Free Revival Sermon: Revive Us Again - Send the Latter Rain

Revive Us Again lyrics

Here is what old Pentecostal evangelist Smith Wigglesworth prophesied about a last days revival just before the return of Jesus Christ: “During the next few decades there will be two distinct moves of the Holy Spirit across the church in Great Britain. The first move will affect every church that is open to receive it, and will be characterised by the restoration of the baptism and gifts of the Holy Spirit.

The second move of the Holy Spirit will result in people leaving historic churches and planting new churches. In the duration of each of these moves, the people who are involved will say, ‘This is a great revival.’ But the Lord says, ‘No, neither is this the great revival but both are steps towards it.’

When the new church phase is on the wane, there will be evidence in the churches of something that has not been seen before: a coming together of those with an emphasis on the word and those with an emphasis on the Spirit.

When the word and the Spirit come together, there will be the biggest move of the Holy Spirit that the nations, and indeed, the world have ever seen. It will mark the beginning of a revival that will eclipse anything that has been witnessed within these shores, even the Wesleyan and Welsh revivals of former years.

The outpouring of God’s Spirit will flow over from the United Kingdom to mainland Europe, and from there, will begin a missionary move to the ends of the earth.”

I don't know if this is going to happen or not. We know we need a revival and it's hard to get a revival when most churches are no longer praying for one. We can start praying for this as individuals.

Yes we need to get back to the word. The King James Bible. Meditating on it every day. Day and night. Then doing just what it says, everything it says. We need to ask God to give us the Holy Spirit and then pray in the Spirit with groanings and perhaps also other tongues. If our church leadership doesn't start calling for revival meetings and prayer meetings lets start doing this for ourselves. "Take heed that no man deceive you," Jesus Christ warned us of the last days. Let us not trust in the pope or Jimmy Swaggart or Joel Osteen or our denominational leaders. Just trust in Jesus Christ and the Bible. I think we could be getting very near the second coming of Jesus Christ. So we need to be praying for the latter rain of the Holy Spirit described in James chapter 5 and the book of Joel.

I personally doubt there will be a rapture and then seven year tribulation as a lot of people have taught. A lot of people have taught that you can miss this rapture and then get another chance. Jesus Christ didn't seem to teach that. He said the foolish virgins were left behind because they hadn't taken the oil of the Holy Spirit, but then they get the oil and they still aren't allowed in. Jesus Christ didn't seem to teach a second chance. I believe there will be a rapture or second coming just before World War III breaks out. Jesus Christ taught that Jerusalem would be compassed about with armies and then made desolate.

Those who teach that Israel will somehow be victorious in this coming war are dead wrong. Israel will be defeated. The Vatican will be burned up at this time (see Revelation chapters 17 and 18), and the United States of America will also be burned up in one hour at this time (see Jeremiah chapters 50 and 51). This will be a surprise invasion and the modern Babylon, Israel, the Vatican, and the United States, the world's leading super power will be quickly and unexpectedly defeated even as ancient Babylon, the leading power of it's day, was unexpectedly overthrown overnight by the Medes and the Persians.

I think when Jesus Christ comes back again he will burn up this old world. He will bring a new earth with him. I think the poor, maimed, halt, and blind of this earth, some good and some bad, the Philadelphian church, the sheep, the wheat, and the wise virgins will be caught up into the air to escape this day of the Lord's anger and then brought down to live for at least the next 1,000 years (the Millennium) on this new earth. We need to watch and pray always, and seek meekness and righteousness, to be found worthy for this.
